Unity of Gaithersburg's Service Ministry is a wonderful ministry that helps our community in countless ways.

Some of our projects include:

Pack A Sack
A collection of school supplies for needy children.

It is that time once again…time to turn our attention to filling backpacks with schools supplies for the Upcounty Community Clothing Center for distribution to underprivileged children. Last year we provided 75 backpacks and this year’s goal is 100 as the current economic climate makes the need even greater. Your generous contributions of cash or checks will be accepted during July. Please make your checks out to Unity of Gaithersburg (earmarked Pack-a- Sack). It costs between $30 and $35 to purchase and fill a backpack. Volunteers to help with the purchasing, filling and delivery of the backpacks will be needed, so the backpacks can be delivered to the Community Clothing Center by mid-August. Angel Tree
Provides Christmas gifts for the children of inmates at the Clarksburg Correctional Facility.

Hat & Mitten Tree
Provides hats and mittens for an Indian School in the Midwest.

Manna Food Bank

Manna Food Center is a not-for-profit organization that strives to eliminate hunger in Montgomery County through food distribution, education, and advocacy. It feeds 2,000 hungry Montgomery County residents each month.

Thanksgiving in February

An annual event hosted by Interfaith Works to help the hungry by dining out at a participating restaurant. Restaurants are listed on the Interfaith Works website
